Private Residence | Dillsburg, PA

This residence was designed with an eye toward energy efficiency and provisions for all phases of life. The clients sought an open floor plan suitable for entertaining while reserving intimate, comfortable spaces in a master wing. The L-shaped plan balances private and public spaces and defines a shared outdoor patio. The interior spaces were designed to incorporate salvaged barn timbers to help give the home a connection to the owners’ previous farmstead. The home was built with passive solar principles in mind to maximize heat gain in the winter and shade south facing glass in the summer.
